About Kimberly Woulfe, Certified Driver Rehab Specialist (CDRS)

Kimberly Woulfe, OTR/L, CDRS is the owner of Driver Rehab Solutions, PLLC.

Kimberly Woulfe is a registered occupational therapist (OTR/L) licensed in Tennessee. In addition, she has specialized occupational therapy skills to do driving assessments and training. What’s more, she is certified as a driver rehabilitation specialist (CDRS). She’s also a member of The Association for Driver Rehabilitation Specialists (ADED).

These unique skills enable Kim to give driving tests for seniors as well as disability driving tests for those with unique driving challenges. Additionally, her certification makes her a disability driving instructor. In that role, she helps train people who need additional skills or instruction on how to use adaptive driving equipment, such as hand controls, steering knobs, left foot brakes, and more.

Kimberly Woulfe’s Story

When Kim’s mom was only 48 years old, she was injured in a car accident. Because of the accident, her mom lost the use of her right hand. Unfortunately, she was right-handed.

As a result, her mother was unable to drive for many years. Kim saw how it took away her mom’s independence and changed her life.

Later, as a young occupational therapist (OT), Kim was surprised to discover that driver’s rehabilitation was an OT specialty. Kim says she was immediately hooked. She began pursuing the special training and certification she needed to help people like her mom.

Today, Kim enjoys helping people get the keys to their independence.

Occasionally, she has to discuss driving retirement, instead. She said it’s a hard conversation to have. But occasionally a necessary one.

In most cases, however, she can help people learn the skills and get the training to safely operate a motor vehicle.
